Agreed except on the boundaries part; white women love this word and misuse it for the exact same reason, to protect themselves from the harsh truth. Thanks for a great dissection of some amazing women’s work. I’m waiting now for the next term in feminism and offer up the term radical womanist, intersectionality doesn’t address the continued sexual exploitation of women and children.
Thanks for sharing your perspective! I understand your point about the misuse of the term ‘boundaries,’ particularly when it can be co-opted to avoid engaging with uncomfortable truths. I might write a more in-depth reflection on boundaries at some point. It’s interesting to think about the evolution of feminist language and the need for terms that address the ongoing exploitation and oppression women and children face. ‘Radical womanist’ sounds like a powerful concept that could bring a fresh, intersectional lens to these issues. Looking forward to more discussions on how we can more accurately describe and address these continued injustices.
