Many autistic kids are not struggling with “thinking they’re better than everyone.” They are struggling with intensity, certainty, and living inside social systems that rarely explain their own invisible rules clearly.

I think one of the more painful things about raising perceptive autistic children is realizing how quickly the world begins trying to teach them how to become more socially manageable.
